Wasabi Aioli

Ever want to mimic a sauce that you were served at a restaurant? Have you ever tasted something so delicious that you write down what you think are the ingredients on your napkin? How would you like to learn my recipe for an unusual aioli? Why is it unique? The ingredients are orange juice and pickled ginger.

Wasabi Aioli

2 teaspoon wasabi powder
1 teaspoon orange juice
1 teaspoon lime juice
2 teaspoon pickled ginger
1 egg yolk
1 cup mayonnaise

Combine the wasabi powder, orange juice, lime juice, pickled ginger in a food processor. Puree until smooth and then allow the mixture to set for 10 minutes before you continue. This will allow the flavors to intensify. Add the mayonnaise and egg yolk to the puree. Mix until the ingredients take on a mayonnaise like consistency.

Makes 1 cup
