Let’s Start Baking

Every holiday season, my daughters and friends gather in my kitchen and have a holiday baking day. Weeks in advance, I begin to purchase the ingredients that I will need for the cookies. I discuss the cookie recipes we will bake with my daughters and then get ready to bake.

Most grocery stores at this time of the year have sales on baking goods. I purchase extra butter, sugar, splenda and flour early in the season and set them aside for the big day. Along with the cookie supplies, I purchase gift bags, tins and ribbons.
Two of my daughters work in hospitals and they bring cookies for their co-workers as gifts. Having everything on hand for the big day, keeps the chaos to a minimum. A portion of the cookies go to the meals on wheels kitchen that operates out of our church.

Do you have any holiday traditions that you would like to share? We’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by.

All the best,
The Outdoor Epicurean
