Authentic Pizza Dough

The pizza dough can rest up to 1 week in a covered container in the refrigerator. suggestions are to make it ahead of time for a delicious and easy dinner.
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon dry active yeast
  • 1/1/2 cup warm water, divided
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 31/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Instructions
  1. Pour 1/2 cup warm water in a 2 cup measuring cup. Add the yeast and sugar and use a whisk or spoon to dissolve. Place the cup in a warm spot in the kitchen until it obtains a crown that resembles a sponge.
  2. Meanwhile, add the flour and salt to a mixing bowl. Turn the mixer to low and add the yeast and 1 tablespoon kosher salt. Add the water and yeast combination along with the remaining water. Mix until the dough is raggie and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Remove from the mixer and place a warm moist dish towel over the bowl. Let rise until double in size. At this point the dough can be refrigerated for up to one week. Make 4 8 inch pizza dough rounds
